Corin Mitchell, a senior member of our Sales Team, was recently invited to give a presentation to middle-school students about post-school experiences and career choices. Corin, who is not accustomed to presenting to large groups of students, delivered his presentation with flair and convinction, earning high praise from the event organisers and pupils alike. It is never easy keeping the attention of school students, and Corin did the company proud with his assured and captivating delivery. Read on for the testimonial in full.
"To whom it may be concern,
Corin Mitchell came into school and spoke to a group of two hundred Year 7 and 8 pupils. He came in as part of a programme of speakers who are talking about their post-school experiences and career choices to inspire the students to think more widely about their choices and to raise their aspirations.
Corin engaged the pupils fully and they were attentive and interested. Corin provided a full and balanced presentation that explored a variety of options that would be available to post sixteen learners both in formal education and ‘on the job’ training. He talked about his career change and encouraged the pupils to see education and career development as a life-long process.
Corin’s presentation was inspirational and, I believe will help to raise the aspirations of the students. The pupils were keen to ask questions and Corin’s relaxed style and good humour created a non-threatening atmosphere that encouraged even the most hesitant to take part.
This was the second presentation that Corin has delivered at Mayfield. Both were of a similarly high standard an very much enjoyed by both pupils and staff. I hope he will consider a return visit."
