NEWS: New Spelling, Mental Maths, Science workshops for Key Stage 2

Positively MAD is proud to announce the arrival of a trio of presentations for primary schools called The Mindwise Workshops.

The Mindwise Workshops were born out of a need for Positively MAD to provide schools with presentations that showed the application of fun and creative learning approaches to core curriculum subject areas in English, Maths and Science.

During the workshops, students will employ the Story-link Method, the Journey System, the Lock-add-load Method and the Number Shape System to learn, amongst others, ways to:

• Improve Spelling (Year 4)
• Improve Mental Maths (Year 5)
• Improve Science Factual Recall (Year 6)

 Each Mindwise Workshop focuses on different learning systems and a specific curriculum area, and each provides the students with an uplifting, creative and inspirational learning experience.

The main aim of the Mindwise Workshops is to engender a love of learning, and in particular, to inspire creative and unusual approaches to remembering useful information. We want students to gush about the workshop when they go home, to brag about it to their friends, to remember the content well enough to be able to apply techniques effectively in their schoolwork and studies.

These workshops are in keeping with the company’s objectives: namely, to change the way the world learns by empowering students with a range of effective learning strategies, and to inspire students to use and reflect on those strategies in order to master them all and become versatile and accomplished learners.

The workshops are also in line with the ethos behind everything we stand for. Positively MAD is so named because our approaches to learning are zany, original, compelling, memorable and effective. The content of the Mindwise Workshops reflects this in abundance.

Each 75 minute workshop is delivered in your school hall to the year group for which the workshop is intended (Spelling = Year 4; Maths = Year 5; Science = Year 6).
