Exam Busters

All students from a range of backgrounds and mixture of abilities were engaged and motivated throughout the whole day. They were encouraged to consider their responsibilities and commitment to learning and they were led to concentrate on ‘feedback not failure’ as a stratagem for self improvement. Students were challenged to examine closely their attitudes and beliefs and to recognise that they, individually, had to control and influence over the success of their learning. Mind mapping techniques were effectively introduced to the audience and practised in several contexts. The students and staff now use these methods to help in memorising facts and in designing responses to problems and turning them into opportunities. Overall, an imaginative presentation which involved everyone present, concerning them of their worth, enhancing their self esteem and persuading them that, clearly, they could ‘make a difference’. We were very fortunate to experience the day and would recommend it to anyone who care about improving their own learning and changing their outlook on life.

Many thanks for excellent ‘Exambusters’ sessions delivered to all our Year 11 Students. It was extremely well received by not only the students but staff helping with supervisions as well. I am sure it will ‘make a difference’ and we are full of admiration for the energy and enthusiasm of the presenter.
