Coaching Courses

Our Certificated Coaching Courses are half-day workshops, run by Master Practitioners, which aim to show teachers, trainers, tutors, coaches and licensees how to learn the essentials needed to run our sought-after Student Coaching Programmes, or Systems. Delegates are shown how use the Presenter Training Packs in order to understand and present the course effectively, and will be taken through the steps needed to become an expert, or ‘champion’ of that coaching programme. There will be opportunity to discuss issues regarding the coaching programme, to share ideas and good practice, and to troubleshoot any problems regarding delivery and presentation. Delegates will receive accreditation in the form of a certificate, allowing them to be called ‘champions’ within educational establishments, or ‘accredited practitioners’ if they are licensees. The main advantage in attending these half-day workshops is to get greater knowledge and deeper understanding of each of the coaching programmes on offer.

This four-hour course is ideal for all teachers who want to teach students how to set and reach attainable goals. This course will appeal to teachers of PSHE, Form Tutors, Lead Learners, Heads of Year and those in charge of Extended School services and programmes.

Course Overview

This is a dynamic 4 hour, half-day workshop that is run in venues across the country. It is run by a Master Practitioner of the coaching programme who will show delegates how to learn and how to run the coaching programme so that it can be successfully delivered in schools. Delegates will be shown the essentials of goal mapping and how it can be used to aid transition, boost exam results, and foster aspirations for Higher Education. whether they are for transition, for exam success, for personal aspirations or for aiming for higher education

Training Courses

Our teaching training events are highly informative, highly practical, highly effective and hugely entertaining. They are extremely well-resourced and crammed with effective tools, methods, lesson ideas and strategies that students relish and which can be implemented immediately. They can be run at any time during the school year, at the school or at a venue of their choosing, to suit the needs of the school. Teachers will receive a post-course reflective journal, which guides them through the deep planning of three lessons, so that they can translate good ideas into part of regular good practice. Each course comes with a comprehensive workbook which doubles as a resource guide, full of practical and effective ideas.

All courses are between £750 and £950 plus travel, accommodation and workbooks where applicable.

Developing Creative Writing is a fun and, as the title implies, creative course during which delegates can look forward to a day crammed with loads of practical and interesting activities which will enhance pupil writing skills. We begin by understanding and using the concept of freewriting to develop fluency of ideas. We then explore the story-method approach to spelling and look at how circle time activities can improve writing expression. The 6S Study Skills Course For Teachers

Who's it for?

For all secondary and post 16 teachers whose pupils need help preparing effectively for exams and tests.

Course Overview

This course allows teachers to experience the 6S Study Skills Course as it would be run to students, but with more of an emphasis on using the tools as teaching techniques. We examine the concept of regular review and use it to experiment with ten different learning tools throughout the day. Teachers will learn about the importance of sleep, state, sustenance, skills, support and state to the exam experience and will be shown ways to help their students improve note-making, note-taking, thinking and study skills.

By the end of the day delegates should be able to:

  • Change students perception of their ability to remember and learn things
  • Expose students to current research around key areas like sleep, sustenance, sport, support and state in order to encourage them to prepare their whole body for the exam experience
