This course is especially useful for those Science teachers who have embraced accelerated learning methods and now want to find very real and practical ways to make them come alive in the classroom. Lesson ideas, plans, examples and resources will be provided and generated throughout the course. The essential focus of the course is on how thinking skills can be accessed and how note making and note taking skills will improve retention and recall.

- To know how to use summary posters, mindmaps, memory hooks, the journey system, the Roman Room system, mnemonics and the story system to improve note-making skills

Content of the Course
- The Positively MAD Accelerated Science Learning Cycle
- Using Bloom’s Taxonomy and Gardner’s Multiple Intelligence Theory
- How memory improvement techniques can improve note-making skills
- Accessing Critical Thinking skills through mental maps
- Curriculum coverage: properties of metals, alternative energy sources, plant parts and functions, the periodic table, fossil fuels, the digestive system, energy transfer and electricity, the electromagnetic spectrum, acid rain and weathering

Logistics
